Welcome to Nursery

Nursery

Summer 2

Welcome to our final half term in Nursery!

Our topic this half term is

What lives under the sea?

This half term we will be preparing to transition into Reception. We are excited to learn new routines and meet our new teachers.

We are continuing to learn phonics through Floppy's Phonics and are beginning to recognise some initial letter sounds.

Our newest children are now beginning to recognise and continue a rhyming string.

We will be exploring which different animals live under the sea and taking on the role of Pirates.

As always our children in early years learn and develop through a play based approach.

We will be learning outdoors as much as possible, please remember to send children in appropriate clothing -

  • Wellies
  • Sun hats
  • Sun cream
  • Jackets

Our Nursery graduation will take place on Tuesday 16th July 9am.

We will also explore the 5 key concepts of prints.

If you are one of our January starters we ask if you could please send your child in with a photograph of their family or post this to tapestry. Thank you in advance.

Tapestry Journal

'Tapestry is an online journal to help record all the learning and fun of children's early years education.'

Please download the Tapestry app and make sure you have registered to receive updates on your child's progress. All parents will be provided with a log in and password to access their child's profile. Please do not hesitate to ask for support with this,

Our door is always open and we are always happy to meet, chat and listen to parents.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any help or support.

We look forward to getting to know you all!
