Welcome to Reception 

Welcome back! The children have matured so much over the holidays and are definitely ready to transition into year 1! This half term we will visit Hesketh farm where will meet and feed the animals, go on a tractor ride and have lots of fun in the play park.

Our topic is kindness, mermaids and pirates. We will be exploring the world and finding our which animals live under the sea. We will be writing a number of letters to our visitors ' The kindness elves' and will continue to write for a purpose. We will make fairy/elf houses and our own small world characters. 

During phonics we will be working on phase 3 'floppy's phonics.' During our maths sessions will continue to explore composition of numbers and begin measuring mass, size and time.
